The ICAR Research Complex for North East Hill Region, Umiam, has inked an agreement with the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) for academic and research collaboration in line with guidelines from the ICAR headquarters in New Delhi.
USTM is the first private university with which ICAR RC-NEH has reached an agreement to collaborate for academic research in agricultural and allied sciences.
This memorandum of understanding (MoU) is hoped to lead to immense benefits for both parties by harnessing each other’s capabilities to further the interest of the farming community, students, youth and for overall development of the North East region.
ICAR Umiam is known for its excellent research in agricultural and allied sciences while USTM is known for its vast student base who require quality education in the emerging areas of cutting edge science and development of self-reliance through agricultural entrepreneurs, an ICAR press release stated today.
