The Hynñiewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has offered its hand of support to the Border Security Force (BSF) in sharing real-time information to curb illegal infiltration and trans-border crimes along the international border in Meghalaya.
Members of the HYC from the Jatap and Shella units held a meeting with the BSF at the Border Out Post (BOP) in Beltoli which was chaired by Kamal Khulbe, Deputy Inspector General, PRO Frontier Hqs BSF Meghalaya.
The HYC was represented by Jatap unit president Pyndapbor Shongwan and Shella unit vice president Batynshain Natep, which was also attended by local representatives from the bordering areas.
During the meeting, issue related to trans-border crimes, illegal infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border were discussed in detail acknowledging their impact on national security and local residents.
BSF reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining constant vigilance and assured full cooperation with the local community and civil society organisations in curbing border-related crimes.
The meeting concluded with a strong spirit of collaboration and mutual responsibility to ensure safety, peace, and security in the border region.
The BSF PRO said that such meetings will be conducted on a regular basis to enhance mutual cooperation.
