Members of the Estimate Committee of the State Legislative Assembly today completed their four-day inspection of various developmental projects implemented by the State government in the State.
Today, the committee had its final visit to Ri-Bhoi district to inspect projects related to the health and education departments.
Headed by Nongpoh MLA Mayral Born Syiem, the Estimate Committee members who took part in the inspection include Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, Wailadmiki Shylla, Charles Marngar, Miani D. Shira, and Damanbait Lamare.
Speaking to media persons, Syiem said that the committee members during their visit inspected the projects allotted under the Education Department which includes the construction of Eklaya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Lawbyrtun, Rongjeng, and Ri-Bhoi, and two Polytechnics in Ri-Bhoi and Nongstoin.
He also said that the projects of the Health Department which were inspected by the committee include the construction of Trauma Centre at Tura and Nongpoh and the Maternity and Child Health Hospital at Umran Niangbyrnai in Ri-Bhoi.
“We have collected all details on the delays of the construction of these projects. We will take up with the government to change the financial estimation structure so that these pending projects could be completed for the benefits of the people,” Syiem said.
