General Holiday has been declared in the State on account of General Elections to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on February 27.
A notification from the government said all state government offices and educational institutions will remain closed on the poll day to enable voters to exercise their franchise.
Industrial undertaking or any of the establishments governed by N.I. Act, 1881, shops and those which work on shift basis, daily wages, casual workers including those working outside the constituency shall be entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday as provided in Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
