The Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) has questioned whether the state government has really issued an official notification to the police to crack down on the misuse of tinted windows on vehicles.
At a press conference today, HNYF leader Bless Dkhar said that the pressure groups fear that the checks by the traffic police are applicable only to the tinted vehicles of the common man, while the so-called high levels are excluded from such checking.
“We appreciated the ban on the tinted glasses because it is for safety purposes but we want to know if a notification has been issued in this regard because expensive vehicles with tinted glasses are seldom checked, while those of the common man are fully suppressed,” Dkhar stated.
“We will follow up this matter and if there is a bias in the checking of the tinted glass then we will also come out in the street to check vehicles,” he added while calling for applicability of law for everyone.
