The Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) has filed a complaint with Education Minister Rakkam Sangma against a contractor’s “unsatisfactory” work and delay in handing over the Sibsing Memorial Higher Secondary School new building to the school authorities.
HNYF West Khasi Hills leader P Nongrum said that the new building of the school was inaugurated on January 17 by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma but the building lacks many facilities like furniture, black or white board, electricity connection, and suffers from poor water pipeline connection and window panes.
He also said that there is no fencing, which has led to illicit activities inside the school premises, and that the assembly building is not made of concrete, which is not suitable during the rainy season.
Nongrum said that the minister assured him to follow up on the matter.
