The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Meghalaya police seized 431 grams of heroin packed in 40 soap cases from a vehicle at Umphyrnai, Dymmiew village and arrested two persons.
ANTF received specific information that a vehicle bearing registration number MZ01 M 6507 was proceeding along the highway from Khliehriat to Mawryngkneng to deliver the consignment to woman identified as Vanlaltluangi on Wednesday, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger informed
Following the tip off the ANTF immediately swung into action and intercepted the vehicle at Umphyrnai, Dymmiew village at around 4:25 pm driven by one Vanlalropuia, he said.
“Later, a trap was laid for the receivers of the consignment where two persons namely Vanlaltluangi and Bruno Faihriem who were moving together in a vehicle (white WagonR ML05 H 0764) were intercepted and accordingly both the persons were arrested,” he added.
A case has been registered vide Madanrting PS Case No. 09(01)2021 U/S 21 (c)/29 NDPS Act and investigated into, he informed.
