Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Minister, AL Hek today held a meeting at Tura to discuss various issues concerning the department as well as achievements of various farms and institutions.
The officers highlighted the constraints and challenges faced in different farms located in Garo Hills region.
Hek also inspected various government farms as well as other institutions under the department.
AH & Veterinary Department Secretary, Dr C Manjunathan, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Chelani, Rongram BDO TN Sangma and other officials of the department were present at the meeting.
Two motorcycles sanctioned under Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) were handed over to the first batch of MAITRI’s (Private AI Worker) in order to enable them to provide timely Artificial Insemination (AI) services at the farmers’ doorstep.
The Minister also inaugurated Milk Parlor funded under Meghalaya Milk Mission & National Programme for Dairy Development at New Dairy Complex, Ganol and Worker’s Amenity Block funded under National Programme for Dairy Development, West Garo Hills at the same venue.
