Heavy rains lashed parts of Meghalaya from yesterday night till today.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Williamnagar recorded rainfall measuring 120 mm followed by Pynursla (110 mm) RKM Sohra (100 mm) and Sohra (80 mm).
Heavy rain with thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur on March 30, the department in a special bulletin said.
This is due to the cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists. The cyclonic circulation over northeast Bangladesh and neighbourhood extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked, it added.
