Nongpoh, May 5: The Hynñiewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM), a pressure group has officially ceased its operations in Western Ri Bhoi.
This decision comes after a discussion among senior leaders and members of the unit, who expressed their frustrations regarding the leadership of the central president, Lamphrang Kharbani.
Leaders who stepped down from their positions include Sumar Lyngdoh, HANM unit president, vice president, general secretary, and several other key position holders within the group.
Their collective decision was rooted in dissatisfaction with the central leadership approach, which they felt was not conducive to the growth and unity of the movement.
Lyngdoh stated that their resignation does not reflect a revolt against the HANM, but rather stemmed from ongoing issues with the central leadership. He said they had attempted to address these matters through dialogue, but unfortunately, the lack of constructive response resulted in unresolved conflicts.
He said as a consequence, they felt the appropriate course of action was to dissociate from the group entirely, effective immediately.
