The Garo Students Union (GSU), southern unit, met Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Sports Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh to seek solutions to problems being faced by South Garo Hills.
The pressure group, through a memorandum, sought for a new district auditorium in Baghmara as well as a new Deputy Commissioner’s office.
“We have also sought the introduction of private banks in the district. Further, we also highlighted the poor network connectivity that the district faces and sought for more towers to be set up in Rongara and Moheskola, which have been devoid of network connectivity,” said President of the unit, Chuang HM Sangma.
The CM, according to the GSU, assured to look into resolving all these problems while adding that the new DC’s office complex was already under construction.
Later the pressure group members met Sports Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh.
“We highlighted various problems regarding the indoor stadium in Baghmara and he assured us that the indoor stadium will be repaired and renovated very soon,” added Sangma.
