Shillong, Apr 17: The Government of Meghalaya has announced the naming and renaming of several roads across the state.
Among the changes as per a notification issued by the General Administration Department (B) is the renaming of the “Blessed Mother Teresa” road to “Saint Teresa Road”.
Another important renaming is that of “Rev. Nichol’s Roy Road,” which will now be called “Rev. J.J.M. Nichols Roy Road”.
The road known previously as “PWD Road from Thorika Rabha to Nibari” will now be recognized as “Utpal Rabha Road”.
In addition to these changes, the “Pasyih Garampani Road (P.G Road)” will now be referred to as “Phramer-Shangpung-Saphai Road,” and the road leading from the Wahthapbru locality towards Jaiaw Pdeng, which previously passed through Mission Compound locality, have been renamed as “Dr. Friday Lyngdoh Road”.
