Governor Satya Pal Malik held a series of meetings with officers of the state government yesterday and today to review the performance of central government schemes and programmes in Garo Hills.
Held through video conference, the Governor met with senior civil servants in the western range to discuss the progress of programmes such as the national rural employment guarantee scheme (MGNREGS), National Health Mission, affordable housing scheme (PMAY), financial inclusion programme (Jan Dhan Yojana), etc. Malik also reviewed the law and order situation in Garo Hills with the Deputy Inspector General of Police.
Today the Governor reviewed the function of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), which was put under Administrator’s Rule recently, with the Administrator, Vijay Kumar, and others. The construction of Governor’s House in Tura was also discussed.
