The office of the District Tuberculosis Officer of West Jaintia Hills today distributed food baskets to tuberculosis patients at Ummulong Community Health Centre.
The distribution was supported by Dalmia Bharat Foundation, the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement.
The DTO, Dr EBV Laloo, informed that the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a programme launched in September 2022 to encourage individuals and organizations to come forward to adopt TB patients for nutritional support.
She also informed that Dalmia Bharat Foundation has come forward in support to 50 TB patients of West Jaintia Hills. Twenty-five patients from Thadlaskein block were chosen today while the other 25 will be given their food baskets in Laskein block at a later date.
