The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), Nongpoh circle met with the District School Education Officer (DSEO) has sought action against schools for denying transfer certificates (TC) to students seeking admission to other institutions.
A TC is usually required when a student moves to a new school or wants to continue their studies in another city or country.
Circel general secretary Precious Khymdeit highlighted the difficulties faced by students and emphasised the need for institutions to comply and allow students the freedom to transfer between institutions.
DSEO Ruby Z. Das has assured the FKJGP that a notification will be issued to all schools in Ri Bhoi district that it is a mandate to provide TC to students as per their requests.
