Newly elected leaders of the North Khasi Hills district Federation of Khasi-Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP) were confirmed today at a ceremony held at the Parish Hall in Nongpoh.
The confirmation oath was administered by FKJGP central president Dundee C Khongsit.
The newly elected leaders are Luistar Lyngdoh as president, Lumlang Mawnai senior vice president, Shanlang Diengdoh vice president, Ricky Majaw general secretary, Artison Khongstid assistant secretary, Kitborlang Suting chief organizing secretary, and others.
In his speech, Khongsit highlighted that objective of the FKJGP and stressed on the importance of leadership in paying close attention to and addressing the struggles and challenges faced by the community.
He said the organisation will remain steadfast in its mission to serve the community and fight against any forces that threaten its well-being.
