The College of Community Science in Tura organised a training programme, ‘Management and Practices for Poultry Farming and Input Distribution’ at Latri village, South West Garo Hills.
Under this training programme, knowledge on management and practices of poultry farming, preparing of low cost poultry house, disease management practices, low cost feed preparation for chicks as well as traditional knowledge for preparing medicine for chicks was imparted. The importance of vaccination of poultry was also highlighted.
Chicks, feed, medicines, etc were distributed to 71 villagers. The programme ended with a question and answer session, with feedback from villagers. The programme was coordinated by Mamoni Probha Borah and co-ordinated by Ranima Saikia. The resource person was Sagarika Borah of ICAR Tura.
