East Khasi Hills district police has registered a case of unnatural death after the dead body of a 38-year old farmer Rishad Sing Kharmutee was recovered from Boucher Road here.
Kharmutee went missing on August 11 at about 5 pm and was last seen at Tynring Bus Stand in Ïewduh.
According to the family, Kharmutee a resident of Mawdiangdiang came to the city to sell ginger.
Police have ruled out foul play that led to his death but said a thorough enquiry is on to ascertain more facts into the case.
As per the post mortem examination conducted, police said, there were no external or internal injuries on the body. “No eye was gouged out as reported by some media reports. It was found that he had Ecchymosis of the heart and samples have been sent to FSL for analysis.” East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger said.
