The family of the late Osim D Marak, who was a government school teacher, are still waiting for the Education Department to pay a family pension to the deceased’s widow, who is struggling to make ends meet.
In a release, Osim’s son, Chegan N Marak, said that his mother, Hirabell N Marak, had signed an agreement with the Education Department during a Lok Adalat in September 2021 wherein it was agreed that the government would pay a family pension and retirement benefits within 90 days.
However, the family continues to wait for the Education Department to honour its word.
Osim died in October 2019 due to lung cancer. He was the only breadwinner of the family and had worked as a government teacher since 1995.
