The ex-servicemen rally was held today at 58 Gorkha Training Centre (GTC) in Happy Valley here attended by Governor CH Vijayashankar.
In his address the Governor assured the veterans that their welfare remains a top priority and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns, including healthcare, pensions, and resettlement programs.
He commended the dedication and sacrifices of the ex-servicemen who have served as steadfast guardians of the nation’s safety and honour. Their unwavering readiness to lay down their lives to protect the country’s freedom and sovereignty commands the deepest gratitude and respect from every citizen, he said.
He mentioned that farmers and soldiers have no concept of retirement and people who work with devotion to the country, there’s no retirement for them.
The Governor interacted with ex-servicemen and their families, lauding their sacrifices and encouraging them to continue being role models for the younger generation.
EAC Senior Air Staff Officer Air Marshal I. S Walia, 101 Area GOC Lt Gen Sanjay Malik, Brig Neelesh Anand Pagulwar, Commandant, ARC and Station Commander, HQ 101 Area, and Brig Joe Sabby, Commandant 58 GTC, were present on the occasion.
