For the second time in just over one week, a herd of wild elephants wreaked havoc in the rural areas of Meghalaya, destroying 12 homes in the village of Rajai early today morning.

Villagers reportedly had to flee for their lives and no casualties were reported.

It was also reported that elephants have been destroying paddy fields in the areas near the Bangladesh border.
