Elad Shylla, a 16-year-old from Khliehriat East in East Jaintia Hills, has found great success as a karateka in Karnataka, where she is currently studying.
Most recently, Elad did well at the 7th National Level Open Invitational Tulunadu Karate Championship 2025 in Karnataka.
Elad is the child of Treiuty Shylla and Foresting Lyngdoh and took up karate when she was 11 years old at the Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Kendra (E.M) in Chokkady. She is now enrolled in the Government College for Girls in Balmatta, Mangalore.
Speaking to Highland Post, Elad paid tribute to her teacher, P Anantha Krishna Bhatt and coach Santosh Kumar for encouraging and helping her become a national level karateka and expressed hope that she could one day become an international level karateka through the support of her home state.
