Shillong, Oct 28: Meghalaya Assembly Deputy Chief Whip Ronnie V Lyngdoh attended the concluding session of the two-day Legislators’ Leadership programme, which concluded on Wednesday at Mahabalipuram, Chennai.
Organised by the Tamil Nadu Speaker’s Office in collaboration with Meghalaya Legislative Research Forum, the programme brought together legislators for expert sessions on constitutional values, legislative duties, public health, environmental and digital governance.
Resource persons included leadership consultant Mohan Dhamotharan, Policy specialist Samuel Gnanadurai, Suffolk University Prof. Anu P Manoharan, former Madras HC Judge Justice K. Chandru, NHM Director Ram Kumar Sathupuram, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Sampath Kumar, and others.
Lyngdoh also presented a live model of Meghalaya’s iconic living root bridges, highlighting state’s cultural heritage and ecological knowledge.
In his valedictory address, Lyngdoh said leadership is not about holding office but making a difference. “A position may give us authority; only responsibility gives it meaning,” he said, calling upon legislators to make public service measurable through action and results.
“Leadership is not measured by the promises we make, but by the difference we create,” he added, pitching for greater cooperation between Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu and exploring a similar programme in Meghalaya.
