A driver and his helper were rescued after their truck caught fire after it collided with a dumper at Lumshnong along National Highway -6 in East Jaintia Hills district this morning.
The incident occurred at around 8 am.
Sources said that the impact of the collision was such that the truck with both the drivers in it fell in deep gorge. The truck immediately caught fire.
The fire service team of Star Cement Private Limited immediately rushed to douse the raging fire and rescued both the occupants.
