The UDP Shillong City Youth Wing has appealed to people of the State not to get fooled or tempted by the FOCUS and FOCUS Plus schemes of the NPP and the women financial scheme of Trinamool Congress.
“We are confident that the people of the State are enlightened enough to understand the facts and to judge by themselves as to where these schemes were in the last four years and why they sprang up suddenly just two months before the Assembly elections,” said UDP Shillong City Youth Wing general secretary Desmond K L Mawlong today.
“Our question is whether people need help only before election time,” Mawlong said.
He also said that the visit by leaders of national parties to the State during election time showed that “they know our State only at these moments.”
“People should not pay much attention or be fooled by the political gimmicks of national parties,” Mawlong added.
