The State government has decided to extend the tenure of Director General of Police (DGP), Dr Lajja Ram Bishnoi till May 19, 2024.
An official notification in this respect was issued by the Home Department today.
Bishnoi assumed charge as the State police chief on May 20 this year.
Since he took over, Bishnoi has taken several measures to clean up the State police system and also to eradicate drugs and crimes and also ensuring better policing especially in Shillong.
