Director General of the Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General Pradeep Chandran Nair was honoured with the prestigious Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) from President Ram Nath Kovind at an investiture ceremony held in New Delhi yesterday.
The General Officer has been bestowed with the award for his successful Command as the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) in Nagaland.
Nair was also decorated with the Yudh Seva Medal during his Command of a Brigade in Manipur and has also been commended with the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card on three occasions.
He holds vast combat experience in the North East and also commanded his Battalion (18 SIKH) in Assam. He was has been a Brigade Commander in Manipur and in the recent past was the Inspector General of Assam Rifles in Nagaland.
His vast experience in the North East especially as the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) has brought in peace and tranquillity in the region as well as controlled the insurgency.
