The Police Department is going on with departmental proceedings against tainted MPS officer Gabriel K. Iangrai in connection with alleged misappropriation of public money and other irregularities related to purchase of vehicles in the Police Headquarters.
This was stated by the State government through a status report submitted to the division bench of the Meghalaya High Court today during hearing of a PIL on the matter.
“Since it is evident that the departmental proceedings are continuing, let the matter appear a further three months hence in the hope that such departmental proceedings would have been concluded by then,” the High Court said in an order passed today.
Further, the court directed the State government to file the latest status report pertaining to the departmental proceedings at the next hearing scheduled on January 30, 2024.
