Members of the Meghalaya Peoples United Front (MPUF), Khliehriat circle, have demanded that the office of the East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner look into the congestion of Ladrymbai market, especially along the national highway that runs through it.
The MPUF pointed out that there is so much congestion in the area that both vehicles and pedestrians are fighting for space. The union also demanded the construction of footpaths.
The president of the MPUF, Khliehriat circle, Kyrshan Blah said, “The MPUF has witnessed the congestion in the Ladrymbai market and in the letter to the Deputy Commissioner we have demanded to move the hawkers to another location since accidents can occur.”
The MPUF has also demanded construction of a parking lot in the vicinity.
