The Dum Dum Week organised by the Seng Samla for residents of the locality concluded on January 6.
The month-long programme is an effort to promote a fusion of sports and cultural activities, which included football, badminton, carrom board, singing and dance performances involving the youth and elderly.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, former MLA Charles Pyngrope said that such initiatives time again stand testament to the strong will of the Seng Samla to bring closeness among the people in the locality.
Nongthymmai MDC Latiplang Kharkongor stressed on the importance of sports towards the wellbeing of individuals. He said the power of sport and physical activity is a tool to reduce youth crime and anti-social behaviour.
The evening witnessed an entertainment of live performances which was attended by residents.
