Students from across the state, set to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) have expressed dismay over the allotment of exam centres stating it was “unjustified.”
The students at a press conference today highlighted instances of centres being allotted in two different cities, forcing students to travel extensively. They also pointed out large gaps between subjects, compelling students to stay in a particular city for over three days that would incur high expenses.
The students urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) to address the issue, ensuring fairness and sensibility in centre allocation. They also initiated a Google survey to gather feedback from affected students.
Citing financial constraints, the students appealed to the state government to intervene and negotiate with the NTA to provide CUET centres in Shillong.
