The Meghalaya government has approved and sanctioned creation of more police outposts and upgradation of police stations in seven districts of the State.
The government has sanctioned creation of police outposts at Umpleng in East Jaiñtia Hills, Kyrshai in West Khasi Hills, Mawjrong and Mawkynrew in East Khasi Hills and Rongsak and Bawegre in East Garo Hills district.
The government has also decided to upgrade Umsning outpost in Ri-Bhoi, Rajabala police camp and Araimile beat-house in West Garo Hills district as police stations.
