Healthcare workers allegedly left some cotton inside the body of a woman who had gone to Nongpoh Civil Hospital to give birth.
The Khasi Students Union (KSU) met with the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr D Blah, today to seek clarification regarding the allegation.
The woman reportedly gave birth on May 10 and was discharged four days later. However, yesterday, while she was urinating, a lump of bloodied cotton was expelled from her private parts.
In light of this incident, the KSU urged Dr Blah to conduct a thorough investigation and take strict action against those responsible for the alleged negligence.
