Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the new council of ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
Sangma’s NPP is a constituent of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
However, this time NPP did not win any MP to the Lok Sabha. Its two candidates from Shillong and Tura parliamentary seats lost with a humiliating margin.
The party has only a Rajya Sabha MP from Meghalaya in Dr. Wanwei Roy Kharlukhi.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya minister Alexander Laloo Hek along with State BJP president Rikman Momin and other party leaders also attended the swearing-in ceremony.
