After nearly one year, all higher education institutions including colleges and universities in the State will reopen from tomorrow.
The Education Department has directed the institutions to adhere to guidelines issued by the State government.
According to the announcement by the State government, the classes will be held both online and offline in a mixed mode. The class includes classroom transactions, homework, and online interaction in the counseling area.
The Education Department has also suggested a blended approach of three days classes (minimum) and two days for home assignment to reduce the exposure.
Parental consent to attend offline classes is mandatory and attendance must not be enforced and must be entirely dependent on parental consent.
The notice published by the Education Department also said that at least three classes will be offline, with two classes per week required at home for homework-related assignments.
The academic calendar for all classes will be as per academic calendar to be prepared and circulated by NEHU.
The college authorities are empowered to take any decision pertaining to closure of offline classes in an event of any suspected Covid-19 cases in consultation with health officials.

The guidelines also said that physical distancing of at least 6 feet have to to be followed as far as feasible. Use of masks is made mandatory besides frequent hand washing with soap and use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers.
