Shillong, Jun 2: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today held a series of meetings at his official residence, engaging with various organisations, associations, and community groups.
The day-long engagement included discussions with ASHA workers, Grade IV government employees, election enumerators, and diet teacher trainees, who raised crucial issues related to welfare measures, service matters, and delays in educational stipends.
Representatives from the Meghalaya ASHA Workers Union and All Meghalaya Grade IV Government Employees Association voiced their concerns regarding honorarium and service conditions. The Meghalaya Election Enumerators’ Service Association (MEESA) and DIET teacher trainees highlighted the need for better infrastructure, sports-related issues, and pending stipends.
The meetings also addressed industry concerns, with the Meghalaya Poultry Farmers and Welfare Association and Jaintia Hills Cement Manufacturers Association presenting sectoral challenges to the chief minister.
The All Khasi Hills Achik Federation discussed employment generation and recruitment.
Sangma also met representatives from Synod Sepngi and Mawphlang Presbytery, Holy Eucharist Church, The Lou Majaw Foundation, and woodcraft artist Gilford Pde of Jowai, to discuss cultural initiatives, environmental activities, and requests for government support.
Bosco Integrated Development Society briefed the Chief Minister on ongoing development and community projects across the State.
Sangma reiterated the government’s commitment to engaging with stakeholders across diverse sectors. He expressed a firm resolve to examine the issues raised and to foster inclusive development through responsive governance.
Officials said that these interactions reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain close engagement with various sections of society, ensuring public concerns are heard and actively addressed through constructive consultation.
