The Department of Law in collaboration with Sambodhi Research and Communication Pvt Ltd is organising a three-day capacity building programme for government officials under the PA Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research at the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI) here.
The inauguration of the programme was held today in which Law Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh was the chief guest.
The PA Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research Programme is a capacity-building initiative by the Law Department. It is designed to strengthen the capacity of key functionaries involved in rendering a range of public services, welfare programmes and core governance functions that enable policymakers to serve citizens efficiently and effectively.
The fellowship programme aims to equip the officers to gain on-ground experience in areas of law and policy by providing technical support for senior law officers and other senior officers across different government departments at the state and district levels. Through the programme the Law Department aspires to see a more transparent and public focused system that can result in a sustainable service to the people.
