Drivers in Nongstoiñ under the JAC Tourist Association today held a candle light vigil in protest against the murder of their colleague.
Macborn Bonnyson Kharbani, a tourist taxi driver was stabbed to death allegedly by four men at Kynroh taxi stand in Nongstoiñ on March 3.
Police have arrested one suspect identified as Medius Mawlot of Mawkaton.
The family and the Kharbani clan have lodged two FIRs claiming that more persons are involved in the crime.
Speakers at the protest which included members of the seng samla, NGOs and others have demanded immediate arrest of the people involved and bring them to book as per law.
They also criticised the police stating that if the department could announce Rs 1 lakh reward for information related to the IED blast in Shillong why it hesitate to do so in murder cases.
