The East Jaiñtia National Council, Khliehmyntriang Unit has urged the Deputy Commissioner to consider reopening of churches.
Unit president, Lector Dkhar in a letter to the district head said that if markets can open for three days a week, the government should also allow churches to reopen on Sunday as desired by the people of the district and the State.
Dkhar said the government could set strict protocols and these will be duly followed by the church goers.
