The Border Security Force Meghalaya, celebrated the 32nd BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) Day at BSF campus in Umpling here today.
The annual event is dedicated to the upliftment and welfare of families associated with BSF. It serves as an occasion for families to come together, share experiences, and discuss various matters.
BWWA is a registered society under the Registrar of Societies in Delhi, established in 1992 with the primary objectives of ensuring the welfare of both active and retired BSF members and their families. It extends support to veerangana (Widows of Martyrs) and aids in their rehabilitation while also offering vocational training for economic empowerment.
The event featured cultural performances by BWWA Prahari Sanginies.
The programme was attended by the families of local BSF Battalions, Sector and Frontier HQ BSF Meghalaya.
Acting President of BWWA Shillong, Kiran Singh distributed essential items to the veerangana’s of BSF personnel and commended the association’s significant contribution to the betterment of BSF families.
