The Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya and police apprehend two Indians and seized two vehicles loaded with contraband items meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh through the international border in East Khasi Hills.
The BSF said the seized contraband was worth more than Rs 3 lakh. The individuals, along with the seized items were handed over to the Police Post Dangar for legal action.
In a separate operation, BSF troops rescued 12 cattle from two loaded vehicles near the international border. These cattle were transported by road to the border area with the intention of smuggling them into Bangladesh, a press release said.
The seized cattle and vehicles were handed over to the concerned police station for further necessary action, it said.
