Acting on a specific tip-off, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya seized clothing items today worth more than Rs 11 lakh on the international border in East Khasi Hills.
The consignment of sarees was seized by personnel of the BSF’s 4th Battalion while the miscreants were trying to smuggle the clothes into Bangladesh.
The seized items were handed over to Customs officials for further action, a BSF press release informed, though no mention was made of the smugglers.
