Personnel of the 4th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya today successfully intercepted a vehicle loaded with sugar meant to be smuggled into Bangladesh.
Two Indian nationals were arrested in the incident, which took place in Lyngkhat, East Khasi Hills.
The BSF was acting on specific information when it launched the operation whereby it identified and intercepted a vehicle loaded with sugar on the Lyngkhat-Pyrdiwah road.
Upon questioning, the driver and co-driver failed to produce any valid documents pertaining to the consignment of sugar.
The seized items and apprehended persons were handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action, a BSF press release informed.
