Dr. Jalaj Sinha, DIG (Medical) posted at BSF Meghalaya frontier headquarter was bestowed with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service for his distinguished contribution in the medical field and well-being of the personnel.
Dr. Sinha served as the Nodal officer for BSF during the Covid pandemic at Force Headquarters, New Delhi and done tremendous work to save the lives of the patients. During his 30 year long service he served at various challenging locations like Ladakh, North East region and Kashmir when militancy was at its peak. He also paid a significant contribution in abating Malaria among BSF troops at Tripura.
In addition, Constable Dharamveer Singh of 172 Bn BSF Meghalaya also honoured with the Police Medal For Meritorious service award for his impeccable service with courage and bravery.
On Republic Day, the President of India awarded 59 medals to BSF personnel, which include seven Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), five President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) and 47 Police Medal for Meritorious service.
