A man was found dead near a paddy field with injuries to the neck, right hand and covered in bruises, police said today.
A passerby found the body of Pynskhemlang Lyngkhoi (27) body in the near the paddy field at Riatthawlong in Mawkyrwat with his head and belly lying towards the ground at about 9:30 am.
Police quoted a relative of the deceased who said that Lyngkhoi had left his home in Nongbah Marshillong on March 31 at 9 pm and never returned back. He was last contacted by his elder brother, Jonesing Lyngkhoi till yesterday at about 10 am.
The body of Lyngkhoi was shifted to Mawkyrwat CHC and police are awaiting the results of an autopsy before determining if his death was a murder.
