The Mahila Morcha teams of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from various states of the North East are currently on a Pravasi (organisational journey) to all the districts of Meghalaya.
The objective is to get a true measure of the number of people who have benefitted from the central schemes designed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government.
State BJP Mahila Morcha President Susuki Pariat, Sikkim BJP Mahila Morcha led by its president Srijana Thapa Chhetri and Nagaland BJP Mahila Morcha led by Shanbeni Yanthan held meetings with Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, self help groups and other beneficiaries of central schemes.
On visiting Jowai Civil Hospital, the women’s team was touched by the gratitude shown by many patients to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The patients could not stop repeating that the Ayushman scheme, a scheme dear to Narendra Modi, was a blessing for those who can’t afford high medical bills.
The team went on to visit Wapung Skur Higher Secondary School in East Jaintia Hills, St. Joseph’s Parish at Mawkhar and Shillong Cathedral at Laitumkhrah.
Currently the team is touring East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, East Jaintia Hills, West Jaintia Hills and Garo Hills. The remaining areas of the State will be covered in the coming days.
