State BJP vice president, Dipul R. Marak today resigned from the party.
Marak is a former Chief Executive Member of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
Although Marak cited personal reasons for his resignation, there are possibilities that he was unhappy with the party’s decision not to put up candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Many BJP leaders from Garo Hills have expressed their disagreement with the decision by the party to support the NPP in the Lok Sabha polls.
According to them, the NPP treated the BJP badly in Garo Hills.
