Bank of India, through its corporate social responsibility programme, distributed garbage bins to the villagers of Mawlynnong, reputedly Asia’s cleanest village, on Wednesday.
AK Das, Managing Director and CEO of the BoI, handed the bins over during his first trip to Shillong.
The garbage bins were received by the headman of the village, while aprons were distributed to villagers in the presence of BoI General Manager Manoj Kumar Singh, Zonal Manager Ramesh Kumar and Deputy Zonal Manager Yeshi Rabten Sherpa.
Das commended and deeply appreciated the hard working villagers for their efforts in nurturing and maintaining the village so well.
