Shillong, Sep 17 : Orders relating to containment to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in East Khasi Hills were promulgated by the District Magistrate today.
Bamboo Hut restaurant and its staff quarters on MG Road and the first floor of the building of A Kharbuli, ABP Road, Iewdak, Laban have both been declared as containment zones to restrict unregulated entry and exit to these places. The tea shop Ingshet Ja in Garikhana was also ordered to remain closed until further orders. In a later order the entire JB Textile building at Police Bazaar; Qtr No-P11/3B, GPO Quarters at GPO compound; the Flat No-North 207/208, Ferndale Complex; and the campus of Ramakrishna Mission at Sohra have been declared as containment zones.
Meanwhile, after necessary contact tracing and testing of high-risk contacts, containment orders were lifted from the second floor of the building of T Nongkhlaw, Lumdorbar, Upper Lumparing; the house of Arjun Kumar Rai, Debu Sarkar and Mohon Biswa at Oxford Hills; Maxwelton Estate, Rilbong; the house of Pinki Sharma up to the house of Amit Sharma at Upper Maxwelton Estate; the house of S Sharma in the compound of A Lyngdoh, ABP Road, Iewdak, Laban; the house of Dinesh Kumar Shah in the building of Lorina Rynjah, behind Zenith Jubelieth Club, St John’s area, Laban; the whole area of Keating Road from Jha fruit stall, Khyndailad to the new Employment Exchange building, including Mohan Meakin’s Road; quarters within the Laban State Dispensary, Laban; the compounds of Kalyani Dhar, Bijan Dhar, Nihar Dhar at Jail Road; the house of Binod Khemka, Ferndale Apartments, E-107; the house of Asish Dhar, Upper Jail Road next to Gini’s Complex; and the compound of Buli Roy (near Puja Mandap) at Jail Road with immediate effect.
The Laban State Dispensary has also been allowed to resume operation.
However, the house of Shambu Rawat at Upper Maxwelton Estate; Income Tax Quarters, Type-2, Quarter No. 4; the Birma Jalan compound opposite Income Tax Quarters; Goenka compound; Kadir compound; A Swer compound, the building of Phani Ram near Kali Mandir, the building of Bipul Sen; the building of Dilip Deb; the first floor of Neuke Cottage belonging to Pankaj Kapoor; the house of Om Prakash in Rapsang Building at Keating Road; the top floor of the building of Mildalin Mawiong, Bishnupur, Old Kench’s Trace near Surbathiang; and the quarters within Laban State Dispensary occupied by the pharmacist, D Pakyntein, will remain containment zones.
