The Meghalaya Assembly’s Committee on Government Assurances hosted its sister committee from Madhya Pradesh here today.
The Meghalaya side was represented by committee Chairperson Renikton L Tongkhar and committee members Olan Sing Suin, Dr Celestine Lyngdoh and senior officials from the Assembly Secretariat.
The Madhya Pradesh delegation comprised its committee’s chairperson and four members, along with officials. The visit forms a part of their study tour to Assam and Meghalaya.
The two committees are tasked with monitoring the assurances given by ministers on the floor of the Assembly and to ensure that concerned departments follow through on their commitments. Both sides exchanged ideas and experiences, procedures and insights.
